Gjoni is in residence at “The White House Theater” Company in New York. His successes include set and costume design of the opera The Consul at the Hudson River Museum Amphitheater NY in collaboration with Encompass, set for productions of Angel of the Amazon with Encompass, set of the drama Broken Story at Sherry Theater LA, sets for Hansel & Gretel at NJ State Opera, the production of the comedy Is He Dead by Mark Twain (sets, costumes and directing) at National Theater of Albania, the sets for Eyes for Consuela at Gene Frankel Theater NY, and Porgy & Bess (co-directing, costumes and sets), West Side Story and Kiss me Kate (sets and costumes) at the National Opera Theater of Albania.

Other design credits include Mina at La MaMa, Uncle Vanya at Sonet Repertory, The Open Couple and PB&J at NY Fringe Festival, The Higher Education of Khalid Amir at NY Midtown Festival, and The Book of Lambert at La MaMa. In 2008, he received honorific mentioning for the set design of the opera Villa Diodati (45th Street Theater) at the NY Musical Festival.

He has participated in many international theater festivals in the U.S. and Europe. His achievements include also solo exhibitions of art works and installations in different countries. He is Director of the Board of the “Albanian Excellence” Organization, a not for profit that promotes Albanian culture and heritage and is a great supporter of the performing arts community.
